For the past decade, Brecher has played at major music festivals Lollapalooza in Chicago and SXSW (South by Southwest) in Texas. She has appeared on “The Ellen Show,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” “Late Night (At Home) with Stephen Colbert,” and “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.”
Moreover, She has performed on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series. Popular bands she has performed with include Sad13, Benson Boone, Oberhofer, Palehound, Sammus, Kalbells, Bachelor, Sasami, King Tuff, Julian LaMadrid, Okay Kaya, Samantha Urbani, Total Slacker, Oceanator, and Caroline Rose. The New York City native and Skidmore music major, who started playing drums at age 10, has fond memories of Skidmore and Professor Emeritus of Music Gordon Thompson, her advisor.
Furthermore, Zoe produced her first album as a first-year student, “The Feels and Wants,” and performed in Skidmania, the annual campus concert established by Professor Thompson for students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the community. Brecher, who also plays guitar, bass, and keyboard, works on her HUSHPUPPY side project whenever she has the chance. She writes and sings all the songs, plays all the instruments, and produces and engineers all the music herself. HUSHPUPPY’s debut album is now available. Her song, “Nervous,” was featured this year in Hardly Art’s 15th Anniversary Singles Series.
