Roggin serves as the weekday sports anchor for NBC4 and his sports reports are featured on weekdays at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. He is a Southern California broadcasting icon and was a member of the longest-running evening news team, which included legendary journalists Chuck Henry and Colleen Williams, as well as weathercaster Fritz Coleman, who recently retired.
In addition to anchoring NBC4’s weekday sports news, Rogin hosts ‘Going Rogin,’ a 30-minute sports commentary program that airs Saturdays at 3 p.m. and Sundays at 12 midnight, immediately following the NBC4 News at 11 p.m.
He is also the creator and host of NBC4’s live multi-platform half-hour post-game show, ‘The Challenge,’ which airs immediately after ‘Sunday Night Football.’ Furthermore, he also has his own radio show, which airs weekdays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on The Dodgers radio station AM 570.

Roggin began his career at NBC4 as a weekend sports anchor and weekday reporter, and by 1986, he had advanced to become the station’s primary sports anchor and reporter.
In 1985, he expanded his role by creating and serving as host and executive producer of ‘Sunday Night Sports.’ Roggin was well-known for his use of satire and humor in his sports reporting, and he created segments such as the ‘Hall of Shame,’ which featured video clips of hilarious and unforgettable sports moments, and his signature ‘Roggin’s Heroes,’ which highlighted remarkable or extraordinary plays in the world of sports.
In 1990, ‘Roggin’s Heroes’ was developed into a successful nationally syndicated, weekly show. The Roggin’s Heroes segment is still featured in his newscasts to this day. Roggin began his broadcasting career in 1976 with KIKO Radio in Globe, Arizona, as a sports anchor, reporter, and play-by-play announcer.
In 1977, he joined KBLU Radio and KYEL-TV as a sports anchor, reporter, and sports director. In 1977, he began working as a sports anchor, reporter, and sports director for Yuma, Arizona’s KBLU Radio and KYEL-TV.
The following year, he moved to Austin, Texas, to become the sports director and anchor for KVUE-TV, and the following year, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to become the weekday sports anchor for KPNX-TV. Roggin was raised in Phoenix and attended Phoenix College, where he studied broadcasting. He is originally from Detroit.
